* Superstar Manny Pacquiao has finished final preparations at the Wildcard Boxing Club in Hollywood on Monday for his upcoming World Welterweight mega fight against “Sugar” Shane Mosley on Saturday, May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Pacquiao vs. Mosley is promoted by Top Rank in association with MP Promotions,Sugar Shane Mosley Promotions, Tecate and MGM Grand. The Pacquiao vs. Mosley telecast will be available live on SHOWTIME Pay-Per-View.



* Gomez out of Prizefighter – Heavyweight contender Juan Carlos Gomez has been forced to withdraw from Saturday’s Prizefighter International Heavyweights tournament in London due to visa issues. He will be be replaced by Lucian Bot. It was also announced that Kerston ‘Warrior’ Manswell will replace Fres Oquendo. * Ramadan defeats George – Unbeaten IBF female bantamweight champion Susie Ramadan (21-0, 8 KOs) defeated Sarah George (1-3,1KO) in a ten round non title bout at the Calabria Club, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia last Sunday. Ramadan captured the IBF world crown in February 2011 with a ten round decision over Terri Lynn Cruz of the US.



* Evander Holyfield Eyeing Title Shot – This Saturday night in Denmark, heavyweight legend and four-time king Evander Holyfield faces Danish hero Brian Nielsen. “The Real Deal,” now 48-years-old, is in Denmark and he says he is looking forward to wining. Nielsen, almost as old as Holyfield at age 46, has not fought since 2002 yet he insists that he and his fellow veteran can still provide good action fights; The Real Deal in and interview with Sky Sport said – “If I win, I am moving on to the next level,” – “I am hoping to get a championship bout with guys with other belts. Back when I was young, I made a lot of mistakes but I had the stamina and all that to overcome. Today, you have less stamina but more focus. Either way you go, if you play with what you have, you win.”



* Chavez Jr. faces big test against Zbik – Unbeaten number #1 ranked WBC contender Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (42-0-1, 30 KO’s) faces the biggest test of his eight years as a pro when he faces World Boxing Council middleweight champion Sebastian Zbik (30-0, 10 KO’s) next month on June 4th at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles, California. If Chavez Jr. can beat Zbik, he’s going to have to make a decision about whether to face Sergio Martinez, the former WBC champion who was recently stripped of his title by the WBC, or to avoid him and take on whoever his promoter Bob Arum wants him to.



* Silvestre Returns on May 13 – Nozaki on May 28 – By Miguel Rivera – The best prospects from Canelo Promotions will be in action on May 13 and May 28 in Guadalajara, Jalisco. Undefeated juvenile Horacio “Violent” Garcia and world ranked Jesus “Negrito” Silvestre will return on May 13, along with Fernando “Hurricane” Castañeda. Garcia, Silvestre and Castaneda, who are known for their dynamite fists, are aiming to impress the audience at Arena Jalisco. Their opponents will soon be announced. On the evening of May 28, also at the Arena Jalisco, a night of boxing will be headlined by the unbeaten Janet “Cuisillos” Perez, the current national super bantamweight champion. Also on the card, super featherweight Oscar Cortés, Christian Valverde, Erick “Sayayin” Gutierrez and Japanese flyweight Masamichi Nozaki, who will debut in Mexico. * Bradley vs Khan Deadline Extended – Sources close to the negotiations have said that Golden Boy have extended a few extra days to a dead line in an effort to finalize a deal between WBO/WBC junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley and his WBA rival Amir Khan. Golden Boy Promotions, on behalf of Khan, and Gary Shaw, who promotes Bradley, are trying to reach an agreement to match the two champions on an HBO televised date of July 23. – Bradley, who is guaranteed at least $1.2 million for his next HBO appearance, is not happy with the offer of $1.3 million for a unification with Khan.. The deadline, reportedly, is now Wednesday.



* Dargan back in action – Unbeaten lightweight prospect Karl Dargan (8-0, 5 KOs) will return to the ring for the first time in exactly one year this Saturday. Dargan will fight on the non-televised undercard of the Shane Mosley/Manny Pacquaio PPV event in a six round lightweight bout. Dargan is the cousin of Nazim Richardson who trains Mosley. Dargan had a very extensive and successful international amateur career and is looking to excel to the next level in the pro ranks. – Pacquiao vs. Mosley will take place May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and is being promoted by Top Rank in association with MP Promotions, Sugar Shane Mosley Promotions,Tecate and MGM Grand. * Mayweather’s Return – Roger Mayweather, the uncle and trainer for unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr, says Floyd will be back in action by the end of the summer in a fight that will be taking place at the Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, Texas. – Roger says they will sell out the huge stadium, which seats 100,000 fans. Roger doesn’t say who Floyd will be fighting but Victor Ortiz and Miguel Cotto’s names have been mentioned as possible opponents. This would be a good chance for Mayweather to show how well he can draw in the stadium compared to Manny Pacquiao, who twice fought there but was only able to bring in just 40,000 each time out. – According to the examiner.com, Mayweather has a deal with the owner of the Cowboys stadium Jerry Jones to fight there. Roger says this bout would be a tune-up for a mega fight against Pacquiao.
